I watched part of the movie tonight. It is also available on Tubi.
This is a story of a fictitious Navy APA that was involved in the island hopping campaign. Good use of landing craft and not sure if the Navy Customs are being followed but I'm sure that it was all done with respect.

It's been a few years ago I last saw that movie although I do remember the scene of the Japanese aircraft flying into the ship. My Dad was a WWII Veteran also of the Asiatic Pacific Theater of operations with most of His time on the USS Pirate. . Dad is now 96. Dad had been stationed at Pearl Harbor during the Korean War and My Mom and I were there with him. We had already seen the movie Away all boats before the public did at the Base Theater at Peral Harbor Navel Base for a special showing prior to it's public release. .
