I thought BMT and Tech training were both a breeze. Aeromedical Specialist was a roller-coaster, but highly motivational and deeply beneficial in transferring skills and bolstering them. But the advanced field trauma courses in Decimomannu* gave us a huge benefit via "goat lab," (vivisection**), which made all of us grads highly competent in trauma response during the Gulf War, etc.

**Italy (at least back in the '80s) had no restrictions on vivisection, which allows surgery on live animal subjects for the purposes of skillset training. These were animals diagosed with rabies and other life-threatening challenges, and we had physician monitors who ensured the animals were treated properly and with care, and passed in relative peace.
