This isn't about studying other cultures but forcing religious practice on the kids.

California: No teachers, administrators, or other staff are allowed to pray, discuss their personal religion, or even acknowledge they have religion on school grounds. They can do so only only oliquely on their personal social media. And they cannot facilitate students doing any of these things on or off school grounds.
Also California: Students *must* pray to someone else's gods, regardless of their personal religion.
Makes sense to me.
