APOD: 2020 August 17 - Perseids Around the Milky Way

Good morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "Perseids Around the Milky Way." This composite image captures an almost-complete 360-degree sunset-to-sunrise perspective from a single location (Inner Mongolia, China, to be exact) into a single frame. The results provide a full curve of the Milky Way Galaxy, as well as a series of curving meteor trails as the constellation Perseus tracks across the sky (the annual Perseid Meteor Shower peaked last week). Saturn and Jupiter appear on the right below the curve of the Milky Way. All-in-all, a spellbinding panorama from one innovative astro-photographer.
