Thank you, my friend Lt Col Charlie Brown for making us aware that the Department of Veterans Affairs is ramping up mental health funding after a rash of parking lot suicides
Hopefully the funding is being used for counselors and triage assessments instead of additional bureaucracy.

Okay, Lt Col Charlie Brown, you got me going. Chalk up at least some of the suicides and veteran deaths while waiting for health care to obamacare. Completing and submitting a VA form 10-10 got veterans into the VA healthcare system and thus exempt for that damned individual mandate tax penalty. So thousands of veterans did just that -- and I can't blame them. The problem being that it placed all those new veterans into the system while they did not add a single clinician to care for those veterans. So by about 2016 things had gone to hell in a hand-basket. Now folks want to close the barn door after the cows got out. Nothing is going to bring these deceased individuals who honorably served our country back to life. I'm sorry but the whole obamacare BS and how it has been killing our fellow veterans really pisses me off. And even those veterans getting treatment for their combat wounds are having to wait longer for treatment, thanks to obamacare. Think about these two snips from a recent Army Times article discussing Trump's 2021 budget proposal: "President Donald Trump’s plan for next fiscal year calls for a more than 13 percent boost in VA discretionary spending to about $105 billion, bringing the department’s entire projected budget to more than $240 billion, up more than 10 percent." and "The fiscal 2021 budget request is nearly double the total VA funding level from 10 years ago and more than five times the total in fiscal 2001, when the entire budget was about $45 billion." Trumps efforts to kill the individual mandate has also helped some.
