Position Description:
The HVS Automation System Administrator will ensure business logic loaded within the system is executed according to business requirements, will diagnose and troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensure interface between HVS Inventory Management software and the automation system, and assess overall performance of the system. Will work closely with management and the automation system’s mechanical engineer on the productivity and functionality of the automation system. Will determine if there is a system error or automation error and will gain a solid familiarization with business processes and process flows of the Pharmacy.
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for establishing, maintaining, manipulating and updating the business logic within the automated operating system (i.e. system network) to ensure system performance and capability is maintained at the highest level.
Provide dedicated support to the Distribution Center’s Pharmacy Operations, ensuring the HVS System is fully operational during established production times.
Work in cooperation with onsite IT representatives as well as HVS Customer Support Representatives to address specific needs as they arise.
Review and analyze reports, records and directives, and confer with managers/ supervisors to obtain data required for planning activities, such as new commitments, status of work in progress, and problems encountered.
Evaluate current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives and develop and implement improved procedures and practices.
Work with associated vendors to operate, maintain and support proprietary and shelf system software systems.
Work in unison with the HVS System Maintenance Technician, assisting with troubleshooting on mechanical malfunctions and IT components.
Zebra direct thermal printers and handheld Gladiator computer units.
Engage in preventive maintenance of all IT, PC and server systems related to the HVS System.
Provide general support to distribution center operations as business needs dictate.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Basic Skills:
Analyze and isolate failures and faults; repair problems including mechanical, electrical, robotics, electronics, and computer systems related to the High Volume Solutions (HVS) Automation System.
Responds to complicated user requests (e.g., SQL table restore).
Demonstrated proficiency with network switches, interface cards, printers, scanners, Serial-Network I/O components and systems
Demonstrated proficiency with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
Ability to develop basic knowledge of operations associated with Pharmacy inventory & processes
Performs troubleshooting to diagnose and correct problems
Ability to configure and troubleshoot IBM compatible PCs and peripheral devices, including laser & label printers, barcode scanners, I/O interface devices, cabling and network cards.
Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, and pass symptoms to root cause levels
Professional communication skills both verbal and written

Familiarity with Networking, Routers, switches and integrating equipment
Computer proficiency in MS Office to include Access, SQL Servers and Windows XP/Win 7

Possesses basic knowledge of Pharmacy Inventory.
Computer:
Analyze cards and chips and replace if necessary
Troubleshoot network (Ethernet) systems including firewalls & switches.
Ability to setup and analyze RS232/RS422 communications between computers or computer and peripheral devices
Able to work with WIN XP/Win 7, Server 2008 and SQL Server
Electrical:
Ability to download and upload PLC programs, and troubleshoot PLC functions
Maintain robotics, weigh scales, and imaging systems
Ability to work with control circuits using such devices as photo eyes, optical scanners, solenoid valves, limit switches, indicating lights and safety switches
Software/PLC Knowledge:
The candidate must be familiar with Excel Spread Sheets and Microsoft Word. Will have the ability to read ladder logic, download and upload PLC programs, and troubleshoot PLC functions.
Additional Requirements:
Develops technical knowledge of proprietary and shelf software systems to become a subject matter expert
Installs, maintains, and configures servers, workstations, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controller) and printers
Works with associated vendors to operate, maintain, and support software/hardware systems
Communicate with management regarding operational concerns and assist in resolving these concerns
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree in an Information Technology Field
2+ years IT/ Networking experience on VLSI, multiplatform systems
2+ years IT customer service support
2+ years SQL database management. Proficiency with programming languages preferred.
Demonstrated proficiency with SQL
