APOD: 2019 September 27 - The Annotated Galactic Center

Good Red Friday morning, Rallypoint. Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD) is titled "The Annotated Galactic Center." This annotated view, a mosaic of dark sky images, highlights some favorites, particularly for small telescope or binocular equipped skygazers. The cropped version puts the direction to the galactic center on the far right. It identifies objects documented by Charles Messier (such as M8, the Lagoon Nebula; M16, the Eagle Nebula, and M17, the Swan Nebula), objects listed in the Index Catalog (such as IC 1284 and IC 4685), and Barnard 78 (the Pipe Nebula).
