I saw this article on AP. Forget that is is about a politician running for POTUS. Who, besides myself is sick of politicians talking about the tax payers, which is all of us, picking up debts of others. I am also sick of seeing commercials from companies stating that they can get peoples credit card or tax bills lessened. And then we had the bailout out of all of those Fortune 500 companies in 08-09ish. IMO, all of this is BS. Whatever happened to personnel responsibility? No one has ever paid any of the bills I have from mortgage companies, credit cards, auto payments etc. Why in the hell do people think and are apparently able to get their bills partially taken care of. You spent the money, pay your damn bills.

Thank you, my friend SGM Steve Wettstein for posting the Associate Press article about Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg and his husband who are debts to Federal government for more than $130,000 of student loans.
As far as I know, nobody has successfully run for President with a student loan debt to the U.S. government.
"Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg knows firsthand the burden of six-figure student loan debt. He and his husband, Chasten, are far from alone, though, and their personal college indebtedness is helping to keep the issue on the national stage.
With loans totaling more than $130,000, they are among the 43 million people in the United States who owe federal student loan debt.
The debtors are so numerous and the total debt so high — more than $1.447 trillion, according to federal statistics — that several of the Democratic candidates have made major policy proposals to address the crisis. Their ideas include wiping away debt, lowering interest rates, expanding programs that tie repayment terms to income and making college free or debt-free."

This is the guy that believes he has what it takes to be POTUS? South Bend is a mess and if he doesn’t win, he’s unemployed. Perhaps his family could do as I, and many others did, pay off his debt.
