A few miles out of Aschaffenburg, West Germany was 1/7th's regimental nidus. This staging area was to prepare soldiers and vehicles combat ready to move onto the Fulda Gap. I was glad we never received the warning order for that !

I am More than glad that we never received the orders for that as well, John. I knew when I was stationed in Germany-during the Cold War: that us military men and women would be the first to go; were a war with Communism to break out.
