The City of Irvine, California voted to kick the veterans cemetery out of their city, on land ceded to Irvine with the closure of El Toro Marine Corps Air Station. It was a despicable act perpetrated by people who lied to the citizens of Irvine. But that was then, this is now. A new site has been located outside Irvine and we need everyone to flood our County Supervisors with signatures supporting this new location. I don't know if they'll count signatures from outside Orange County California, but they can't hurt. The identified site outside of Irvine is shovel-ready, and a true viable location for the cemetery we have promised our veterans. While we will be disappointed if there is ultimately no cemetery inside the Irvine limits, we must explore every option available to us. Our veterans are counting on it.
