Well you could sadly lump them in with a dozen other African nations all with equally horrific stories. And the root answer you get - sorry to be bitchy/hateful - is that they gots no oil. Were they to have oil in any kind of exploitable quantity, operation FRIENDLY TO ARMENIA would be launched, complete with pursed lips and five to six medal options. Why...our politico's would be welling up with tears nightly on (insert media outlet of your choice) and saying "remember, when we ignore Armenia, terror wins." Stay the course. Bla bla bla.
