"Every soldiers combat experience and personal battles are different. However, to often one battle is very common among many soldiers returning home. They feel unwanted, unappreciated and abandoned by their family and country. Trying to switch from soldier to civilian can be extremely difficult and in some cases the transformation is impossible. Sadly, the United States Department of Veterans Affairs released a study that covered suicides from 1999 to 2010, which showed that roughly 22 veterans were dying by suicide per day, or one every 65 minutes."

Powerful print. It's sad, but also important to note the Texas and California did not report suicides in that study. So 22 is probably under-inflated. Might be as high as 30. But, one is too many. Reach out to your fellow warriors. A simple chat may save a life.

That is so true as to what you say SSgt Zac Ruttman, only a fellow brother would understand and a lot of times our fellow brothers who are in that dire situation will tend to listen to someone who they know has been in the same shoes as them.
