This is just weird. Part of obama's last minute attempt to heat up relations with the Russians? What is the point?

This is part of a larger and longer term commitment to security in the region And honoring our NATO treaty obligations. This is not a fly by night thing. The last 2-3 years has been proof we drew down too far. As a result, EUCOM has had rotational forces in the region to train and work with allies. The Russian actions in Crimea, Ukraine, and now the northern threats to Lithuania and Latvia can not be ignored. Most of the Russian forces are deployed for a lightning thrust into these two NATO allies capitals within hours, not days.

This is what happens when you abandon your obligations and destroy your armed forces, to now rush back in, as you were caught with your pants down.

The "Big Guns" They are Impressive. Although as someone who's office was forward of the the Aft 5 inch 54 Cal. I don't miss the Smell of Cordite stinking up My Office or the Paint Raining down from the Ceiling every time it fired.
