Flight gear adorns crosses for 12 Marines killed in Hawaii

HONOLULU — Military members and families gathered at Marine Corp Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Friday to pay tribute to the 12 U.S. Marines aboard two helicopters that crashed off the coast of Hawaii.
The status of the missing Marines changed to deceased on Wednesday, after five days of searching for them. The Marine Corps says casualty assistance calls officers personally notified each family of the change.

It was terribly sad news to learn that the two CH-53E helicopters each carrying six crew members disappeared from radar on Jan. 14 SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I am thankful that within hours a Coast Guard helicopter and C-130 airplane spotted debris 2 1/2 miles off of Oahu.
Lord Jesus, I lift up the family members and close friends of each of the following Marines and pray that you will comfort them in their time of grief:
