Memorial day 2015
With Memorial Day right around the corner, I am curious to know how the RP community will be observing the day and remembering our fallen brothers and sisters-in-arms.

The first time away is tough! Mine was during the first Gulf War. I am thankful that technology today helps those of you stay a bit more connected. Stay safe my friend!

This is my first year as a civilian in quite some time. Today was a bit strange for me. For some reason there were a heck of a lot more of my brothers and sisters on my mind as I sat listening to the speakers at this ceremony.

Technology surely is great, SFC Christopher Perry. I face time her almost daily provided that signal is good, because internet here SUCKS island-wide!

Think back in the mid-90s when the internet first came out. Now cut THAT speed in half. Glad my hair is short, otherwise I'd be pulling it out!

I'll be standing a flag line with my fellow Patriot Guard Riders members at Purple Heart park in Tucson, AZ.

We go to three (3) local cemeterys and put a single rose on every grave that has a military headstone or bronze plaque in the ground. We pretty much know where everyone is buried now. Three (3) years ago we lost a local young man whom happened to be the son of our best friend. His mother rallied entire communities for the funeral, one year later and for the foreseeable future a Memorial 5K Marathon and she managed this year to get a local highway name changed to Christ Wright Highway! He was our son as well, he belonged to our little burg. Chris, I salute you. So proud of all you accomplished in Special Forces (that we were allowed to hear).

I tool my wife and daughter over to my father-in-laws grave site to place a flag. He along with his other 4 brothers all signed up for WWII - out the 5, 4 made it home. Very proud of my girls today - in the pouring rain no gripping they got out of the car and we paid our respects. There was a Marine color guard detail there not to far from where we where so we watched that as well then we went out for lunch all soaking wet. It was nice to see that as well as all the others out in the rain as well.
