So I have seen various set ups of badges on uniforms. I knew a guy that would only wear his Halo wings. I guess he wanted to make sure everyone saw them. In some places I have also seen Air Assault above Airborne wings. I think that is a 101st thing. What do you do with yours or can you even fit all your badges?

You gentlemen seem to have a good handle on the most recent AR 670-1, can you tell me if I can wear my CIB and CMB at the same time? S1 NCOIC and DA photo guy both say yes, two fellow SOF Medics say yes, 1SG and CSM both say they aren't sure but don't think so. Honestly I don't understand why they would bother to make them different groups if you can't but I really just want to find someone who can definitively say yes or no and here is why or why not. Thanks for any insight you can provide.

There is a chapter in AR 670-1 that lays out the order and precedence and the Location for placing the qualification badges ... or at Least when I went thru PLDC / BNOC/ ANOC there was ... And according to The 1st Sgt. and SGM there was...

Yeah, 670-1 and PAM 670-1 ch 22 layout which group category goes over what, but the air assault badge and the parachutist badge are in the same category. Pg 259

Yes, there still is and AR 670-1 can be viewed online to check the information and can even be downloaded for printing. The same holds true for all branches of the service ie the Air Force under AFI 36-2903. The information is available and actually easy to find.

LTC Jason Mackay - Having been in the 101st back in the 90's (2/502 Cco) the question did come up a few times, and policy for us anyway was ABN over AASLT due to seniority the ABN has been in use since 1940 and the AASLT came in during the 60's sometime, Age over beauty.

I always wore my CIB, Air Crew and Sapper Tab, duty or dress (with a CAB tie tac). When I was TDY to Bragg, I put on the Air Assault. When with the 101st - Airborne. On ACUs or Multicam I only wore three badges. Wearing four pushes the CIB under the collar and we can't have that! Much the same as a combat patch, most of us wear the ones we are most proud of and I'm glad DA Pam 670-1 allows it.

I don't like the four badge look. I am never go to air assault for that reason.

I have all three class 1 badges (two not worn) and two driver badges I can't wear but this is my usual set up. Only time it differs is when i wear full size medals. Then I wear the CIB, senior wings, and pathfinder since you can only wear three with medals.

I see a lot of people wearing badges from class 1, 2, and 3 at the same time that don't know they changed that with the last AR 670-1 and DA Pam 670-1.

I recently noticed the DA Pam was changed but to be honest I don't really understand the change. Do you know why they bothered to make the CIB/EIB and the CIB/CMB different groups if you can't wear them at the same time? Or am I correct in understanding what its saying is you cant wear two from one group one or two from group two but you could wear one from group one and one from group two? Thanks for any insight.

Here's mine. I see some people with pathfinder over air assault as they say it was much harder to earn. I couldn't agree more with that statement

I'm National Guard, so this is how my uniform usually sits for Christmas parties, graduations, etc. For title 10 events or DA photo I swap the Ram's Head with the Distinguished Rifleman badge and remove the last 4 ribbons.
