Good evening, Rallypoint, and welcome to the November 15th edition of Astronomy Picture of the Day (APOD): "Wolf's Cave Nebula." We find the Wolf's Cave some 1,400 light years away in the northern constellation of Cepheus. If you think this is a Hubble shot, you'd be mistaken. It is a composite photo; the astrophotographer's notes on his Flickr page indicate two exposures (each 300 seconds) -- one in visible light, the other using a Hα (ionized hydrogen) filter. Here's the rest of the gear: Telescope: Skywatcher evostar ed80, Camera: Zwo Asi 294 mm, Mount: Skywatcher AZ-EQ5, Guidescope: 60mm UltraGuide Artesky, Focal Reducer: 0.85x ed80 Skywatcher.
Some serious gear. But you get serious results. I like the supernova shock waves along the bottom right corner.
