Today is: "Moving in the Right Direction Day!" Why Not?

Not to disagree with the post today. I enjoy looking back. I have come a long way. I moved home almost 20 years ago after being away for about 16 years. Many I had hung out with in high school had different outcomes. A few had passed, a few were in prison, and some of them had fallen into addiction of one sort or another. A few were doing well. I use that to remind me of moving ahead and keeping goals in front of me that are positive not only for myself, but others as well. Love the thinking however and hope you have a great Monday COL Mikel J. Burroughs

LTC Stephen C. - it as a zero gain path. I just had no role model showing me. My dad tried, but he was not a warm and caring person. He cared about us and kept us clothed and feed- but his father was a cold person. That was how farmers from that era were. Don't blame him- just learned from him. The military gave me something that was mine.

Maj Marty Hogan - I won't hold that against you, at least it wasn't my quote Marty. I look back on great memories and lessons learned brother, but I don't spend anytime fretting over what might have been, if you know what I mean. There are some really good comments and responses here today. Thanks Mary for your perspective. It is always welcome and encouraged my friend. You and your family have a wonderful Monday after and start to this new week!

From a street psychologist here:
I think most all of us do enjoy looking back at the experiences of our life, especially our successes. In my 70 years of life, I cannot think of anyone I've met who did not have fond memories of their past. To me, the meme's point was meant for those with a past trauma that emotionally freezes them into their mental state after their trauma. Coming to terms with a traumatic event (or events), forgiving all involved (oneself especially) and taking the wisdom so painfully gained to pass on to young people can allows oneself to move past the pain and enjoy living again.
Just my 2 cents. (A buck fitty, with inflation).

"Moving In The Right Direction" You are always moving, the question, which direction are you moving? Some is in our control. You decide, you direct, your direction. Good Morning Rally Point.

Wherever you point yourself in your mind and heart is exactly where your feet will end up taking you.
~Jesse Duplantis
If your mind and your heart are headed the same way, the likelihood is that is where you need to go and you will not have much trouble getting yourself to move. It is when our heart and our mind are in conflict over which direction that we tend to stumble. Are you headed the right way today? Now that you've made a decision is your heart in it?
