The Marine Corps F-35C Lightning II aircraft debuted its combat airstrike capabilities for the first time earlier this month when it targeted weapon storage facilities in Houthi-controlled parts of Yemen, the Navy confirmed in a press release on Wednesday.
The Pentagon previously said that the F-35C launched from the USS Abraham Lincoln in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility over a week ago. CENTCOM also posted a video of the fifth-generation aircraft taking off from the aircraft carrier.

From the article, "It is no known what type of arms were used by the F-35s."
Who cares as long as they turned a shitload of Houthis and their munitions into teeny tiny bits.

Great the took off and landed. … but did they hit the target? And why are we attacking with individual fighters … this should be a B52 Arc Light!

Not that I was even closer than 25 miles to a B52 airstrike but when they were making them in Vietnam the ground even shook where I was. Seems each b52 can destroy a ten mile long patch a quarter mile wide on one pass. Pretty hard to match that. how about also the 15,000 lb Daisy Cutter cluster bomb also used in Vietnam ! Nothing was going to walk out alive in that target area !

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter - We were carrying troops on an OP up the river behind a B52 strike one time in '68 and you're right about the ground shaking, even the river sloshing up over the riverbanks Brother Larry. I don't know how far ahead of us they were. although we could hear the explosions, and the whole countryside out of my Gun Mount was toothpicks, some areas still smoking. We had to call in Puff one night and that was also an awesome sight. It looked like molten lava pouring out of the sky.

PO3 Edward Riddle - We had to call in puff also just over a week of My arrival at 366th Security Police Squadron at Da Nang in 1968. That involved 350 Viet Cong coming across a rice paddy towards our perimeter. The AC47, "Spooky" of 9th Special Operations Squadron, in the case of the one's stationed at Da Nang Air Base only had to take off and our Boss MSgt Joseph talked to the pilot on a PRC 25 radio where He wanted the fire and within 5 to 10 minutes there were 350 dead Viet Cong. I heard His transmission and the response from the pilot Despite being on a perimeter post Me and the other never had to fire a shot, the gunship took care of the problem. I didn't think that was too smart of them attacking that perimeter where We even had Claymore mines, APC's, 50 caliber, M60s and 81 mm mortars of our own to protect us from the attack.

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter - Sometimes they didn't seem too bright and then sometimes they seemed like geniuses Brother Larry. Of course, it was different fighting the VC as opposed to the NVA.

Very nice! I hope the Houthis cursed it on their way to their permanent dirt nap.
