While I''ve never considered my Ruger SR-10, in .308W, to be a DMR, I guess some folks would. I bought it for long range target and hunting. I've been an expert shot since i was in my teens. My 10 has a big scope for reach out and touch, but it also has a set of 45 degree flip up iron sights if I want to stay close. I carried the "Pig" in Germany for 3 years and loved it. I'd rather shoot 30cal in a long gun than any other caliber. You guys know I've said before that I have no use for 5.56. It's your choice/decision. I also heard of a new wildcat round yesterday that take a standard .223 shell case and necks it down for a .17 bullet it's been chronographed at ludicrous speed. So there ya go.

Is this a wish list thing? Call me old fashioned, but a DMR would be a bolt action like a Remington 700 or, of the rifles listed, the M1A. Of course, me being the stupid guy I am, my Garand would be my carry.
