Good day my friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell
I suppose superlatives which are succinct and suggestive such as superjacent are subject to special succor in societies focused on graphical or physical sciences where position is supposed to be a primary factor.
Superjacent describes floating specters as well as wrestling moves and sexual positions :-)

Used to post a word of the day in my section. One day, had the word "ferret" on the board. A senior officer, who no one thought much of, came around and asked about the word. Told him it reminded me of him because he was always ferreting things out. Glad he did not look up an alternate in the dictionary. Alternate is "albino European polecat".
