Sometimes you just have to stop thinking so much and go where your heart takes you. ~Unknown
We miss so many opportunities for joy, adventure and experience because we talk ourselves out of trying. Most of the time even having things go halfway wrong or right makes it worthwhile. Give yourself an opportunity to try something before you let your thoughts shut it dow. Remember we regret more the opportunities missed, than the risks we took.

PO3 Bob McCord Agreed. There is some evidence that our "gut" or intuition is the subconscious mind processing and giving us a feeling or hunch which the conscious mind then works to override. The reason the hunch is often right is that there is more information available than we are aware of and the subconscious uses that in processing. I find it fascinating.

PO3 Bob McCord - My son calls it intuition. Once read a book that said intuition is your sib-conscious talking to your conscious - you just have to listen. One example - walking down a dark street - you get a "feeling" before you cross in front of the next alley- you cross the street. You SUB picked up on movement or sound or whatever that the CONSCIOUS did not - good to listen. Saved my rear on more than one occasion.

PO3 Bob McCord we don't even realize some of what we've noticed. It isn't important to us at the time or our focus is elsewhere so some of it gets lost and some goes into our subconscious.

There is a technical name for over-thinking called the Hamlet Syndrome. The syndrome is like the character from Shakespeare; Hamlet had a tendency to think too much which precluded him from taking any action at all. However, both action and inaction can have consequences. We have to make the proper choices. COL Mikel J. Burroughs

Lt Col Charlie Brown - grew up on a farm - Grandpa said "ruminating" was thinking things over before you spoke. He didn't speak much, but the words were wise when they came. I tend to act/speak without always thinking - and THEN I over-think to distraction.

PO3 Bob McCord - Thank you - yes, he certainly was. I think there's now a country song who describes him pretty well. Wish it had been around when he was.

"Before you talk, listen. Before you react, think. Before you criticize, wait. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try!" — William Arthur
Pretty nice theme today COL Mikel J. Burroughs! Good morning to everyone who may see this on this bright and sunny day from the Electric City! Didn't overthink anything so far today and have no plans to do that either.
