The First Amendment is supposed to be what keeps the government honest. The people have the Right to speak their mind, the rest of us will determine the merit of that commentary and thoughts, and act accordingly. I feel that if the government can't answer to those thoughts and comments then they, the Gov't, or any other entity, is trying to hide something. They are forcing you to read their narrative only in hopes you will accept what you're being told, and reject other points of view as hearsay and theory. As thinking adults we must look at all angles and use our own brains to determine the rightness of a statement, not just accept it as gospel because of the source.

Every single facet of the federal and every state, county, parish, and local governments should have absolute transparency. There should be zero secrets held at any level, save for military operations and perhaps some CIA ops.

I strongly support the right of an individual to say whatever they wish. I also support the right to prove (if possible) the correctness or incorrectness of such speech.
It is very evident that far too many people only believe that which supports their own preconceived notions. As technology in communications expands, there is more and more "catering" to those notions, dividing us even further.
