Stripped & Scrapped - What Happened to WW2 German Armour

Thank you, my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for posting "What Happened to WW2 German Armour"
Recovery vehicles extracted German and Allied vehicles and took them to primary assembly points near road junctions or railway access - removing dead body parts for burial and all munitions then shipped to strip-out yards for scrapping.

Older M1 wrecker
More recent tanks were marked for closer examination ..
Some German tanks such as the Panzer Kampfwagen V Panther were transferred and adopted by the French who fielded a Panther Battalion in the last year of the war with clearly visible indications the vehicle was French from above, sides and rear.
