No surprise at all CW5 Jack Cardwell that personal GPS tracking devices are being forbidden while deployed. Of course military specification and tamper resistant GPS capacities will be available to deployed troops.
I have three old friends who command COCOMs now CENTCOM, SOCOM and USFK. Of course they support this clamp down which risks exposing where service members are while deployed.

LTC Stephen F. our military and political entities are far too loose with the use of technology. I'm glad there is a clamp down for the sake of innocent comrade lives.

So is DOD going to ban Geraldo and every embeddd reporter and GO who we all know the rules don’t apply to?

Makes perfect sense. It exposes troops and operations to unnecessary risk.
