Not much surprise for the Hermit Kingdom to use hyperbole in their typical belligerent response that the USA "will pay a "terrifying price" if the Korean Peninsula sinks into deeper tensions" SP5 Mark Kuzinski.
It is ironic and typical of US Secretary of State John Kerry to urge North Korea " to follow the lead of Iran, which hammered out a deal to end its nuclear program in return for the lifting of sanctions."
North Korea is more openly belligerent than Iran in their outburst but North Korea is following Iran's lead in the sense they they both are intent on developing sufficient nuclear weapons to cow their neighbors into doing their bidding.
The North Koreans are a proud people who consider demeanor terribly important. They put up a brave face in the face of nearly universal opposition "foreign minister, Ri Yong-ho, told the same conference, known as the ASEAN Regional Forum, that the country is ready to face any sanctions. It was mindful of all possible sanctions when it took the "inevitable strategic decision" to develop nuclear weapons to counter the "never-ending nuclear blackmails of the U.S.," he said."

LTC Stephen F. Somebody needs to let Korean know that the days of "Pyongyang Sally" the English-speaking woman on North Korean radio stations who broadcast propaganda to U.S. troops during the Korean War and was used with other forms of propaganda including air-dropped leaflets is dead and gone! Talk is cheap and doesn't work!

They had to throw their hay in the ring didn't they......Did Kerry really say "Follow the Lead of Iran"?......There are times when I think Kerry is too tall, therefore not enough blood reaches his brain before he speaks! Wonder what China is thinking of It's "red headed stepchild" ? (It is a common saying)

We could always dispose of some of our excess nukes over N. Korea and kill two birds with one stone.
