I became a member of the National Museum of the United States Army my friend and sister-in-Christ Lt Col Charlie Brown because I sent them $100 as a contribution when they were seeking funds.

Years ago, when they were first considering building, I sent them a donation.

I am also a founding member. I sent them money over the years and continue to do so. I haven't been, yet.
On September 11th, I was just starting the Equal Opportunity Representative Course, at Fort Benning, GA, as the senior instructor. After I finished the course introduction and outline, I put the class on a break. My admin NCO came in and said you need to come look at the TV. I saw the second plane hit the twin towers. Within minutes, all the MPs in the course were recalled to their units to begin securing the post and eventually head to DC and NY to assist with security.
Thus started the Global War on Terrorism. I lost some good friends, some acquaintances, and one young soldier who had been in my Cub Scout/Boy Scout troop years earlier at Fort Polk, LA.
