It is the operating reality in Chicago. I think the last weekend was the deadliest ever recorded. Much of the shooting is gang related but many (too many) innocent people are caught in the cross fire as well. The police have been otherwise distracted due to riots and hence the spike in "local" gun deaths in some areas of the city.
It is an epic malpractice of the mainstream media and the political class in Chicago that have failed to address this in any real, lasting way.
