Great share. Thankfully this happened late in the war. I wonder what the results would have been with experienced pilots on the German side?

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. - I disagree, the Germans would have had fewer losses. They knew when to cut & run, the new kids didn't.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. Bodenplatte was an effort by the Germans to regain air superiority during the Battle of the Bulge, right? Curious why there was no significant comment on that.

Excellent point--and you are absolutely right. The 352d FG did very well that day. Helped break the back of what was left of the Luftwaffe. They were still suffering over the death of their leading ace, Maj. George Preddy, who was killed by an American antiaircraft gunner on 26 Dec.
