Thank you, my friend PO1 William "Chip" Nagel the "declassified" report of how Radio Intelligence supported the Doolittle raid.
I concur in part with the assessment in the report that if the radiomen had been briefed on what they should have been looking for it would reduced wasting time.
On the other hand the old adage we don't know what we don't know could apply. Letting very bright and talented service members use their initiative to figure out how best to do something frequently shes light into previously dark areas.
