Controversy over historical accuracy of Netflix series casting dismissed as 'fear of a Black...

This isn’t as simple as a society making a movie about a national identity (Egyptian) with the only actors/actresses they have, as was done in the past in the US. I remember people being taught this in school back in the 90’s. I remember it as being some kind of “Princesses and Royalty” (probably got the name wrong) program to teach children about their worth and identity, the only problem was this wasn’t a simple casting call, these children grew up thinking they were descendants of Egyptians. I remember thinking at the time that it wasn’t going to end well. It would have been better if the schools taught these children that they were Americans and all the marvelous contributions and actions Black people have given to our Nation. Unfortunately, the people in power of the curriculum at the time chose fantasy instead of reality. How sad for our people.

Here we are 30 years later and here we are. How do we fix this?
The only reference I can find about classes given to children refers to “Hoteps”. I don’t remember that name.
