SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL A guided tour of a Navy frigate by the XO in 1981 impressed me, with the fire power and that they had an ice cream machine!

The Navy always had better food CSM Charles Hayden. I remember when I was in Vietnam We flew some helicopter oil samples up to DaNang from Chu Lai and then had a meal or two at the Navy base. They had real eggs and real milk for breakfast and I believe I had a steak for lunch. And if my memory serves me right, they did have ice cream!

About 1 AM, I once landed at Yuma NAS. When we went to the mess hall, those cooks said, "anything you want, just let us know " Unbelievable to a Soldier in those days!

Wow, a great descriptive write-up! This ship is not anything like the ship I earned my Surface Warfare Officer qualification on, and nothing like my last ship that I served on, USS Bainbridge CGN-25, and drove as an OOD Underway!
