Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on April 2, 1979 the world’s first anthrax epidemic begins in Ekaterinburg, Russia (now Sverdlosk). It is noteworthy that Anthrax aff3ects humans and livestock
1. six weeks later, 62 people were dead. while another 32 survived serious illness
2.livestock also suffered losses from the epidemic.
Sadly it took 13 years to learn that "workers at the Ekaterinburg weapons plant failed to replace a crucial filter, causing a release of anthrax spores into the outside air. The wind carried the spores to a farming area and infected people and livestock in the area."

Thank you for the medical history share. Sad that this happened in Russia.
