Many years ago, I met a now friend with 101st Airborne patch on his hat. Asked him why he removed the Airborne tab. Vietnam Vet and his response was that he wasn’t Airborne. Well anyhow, I found a site that sold 101st patches with Vietnam written on the tab instead of airborne and bought us each one. I wasn’t airborne either. He still wears a hat every day with that patch which he sewed on it.
