Maintenance to Voter registration rolls is required by law in most,if not all, states. We also know that there are several States that have enacted State Laws in an attempt to overthrow Federal Law. SCOTUS usually shuts those attempts down, but it takes a while for a case to reach that level. In TN our DLs have a barcode on them, when you make a purchase that is designated 21 and over, shop keepers will scan the barcode to confirm eligibility, on everyone. I'm 66 and there is no way I'm going pass myself off as a teenager, yet I still have to produce the DL for tobacco products. I have no idea as to the full scope of the scanning program, as it is a new thing, but I can see it being used to identify false ID cards. TN does require an ID when voting, I don't have a problem with that requirement. I'm proud to be an American Citizen.
