I've been a fan of the 7mm since firing an old Swedish Mauser my dad had. It was a very accurate round.

I've hunted for decades with my Weatherby 30-06. I've been living on my current spread for nine years and host some disabled Vets hunt my place. Shots are typically under 100 yards. This year is different as I'm doing it with a suppressed subsonic 45-70. Why? Because I'm trying something different and enjoy the sport. Deer season opens in a few weeks, so I'm doing my final tweaks on the steel targets today. Always fun.

For shots under 10) yards have you ever considered a modern Black Powder Rifle? They are fun to shoot and for me make me slow down and take a better shot.

MSgt Dale Johnson - Lol, yes it must be fun shooting Black Power. Even if hearing the Click first, then the Bang.
