Well I do not consider myself an "Ordinary Citizen" given that I'm part of the LESS than 1% who have served in the US MILITARY especially given that I have either pulled the trigger or pushed the button on nearly everything the Army has in inventory and systems that never made it to the field. Be that as it may the Bill of Rights are GUARANTEED INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS afforded all citizens of the U.S.A.

Therefore no one has the Right to determine what I need or do not need. That is my decision and mine alone.

"It's about having the ability to kill Enemies, both Foreign and Domestic, on American soil. "
And who is to determine who those may be?

Maj John Bell - That will only happen if Trump wins.

By the way, the Veteran population is only about 6%, scattered across the nation and globe. I envy you the participation in your VFW/A.L. I too live in a small town and have most of my life. Don't see those numbers much anymore.

Thanks for the polite conversation. Have a nice evening.

MSG Stan Hutchison No, it will happen if democrats are allowed to
_weaponize bureaucracies,
_use lawfare to attack/intimidate the opposition,
_create a federal Disinformation Governance Board,
_pressure social media outlets to censor speech and
_subsume news organizations as a PR arm of the democrat elite.

6% of 333 million Americans is about 20 million, that's a lot of veterans that have had some level of military training.

Communist China has the largest army in the world. The entire standing army of communist China (active, reservist and paramilitary) is about 3 million. Do you think their military planners ignore the fact that the U.S. has 1/3 of all the privately owned weapons in the world stored in our homes?

Maj John Bell - 1. Democrats are NOT doing any of what you post. That is just your opinion which I disagree with.
2. I am sure not all those Veterans own firearms.
3. I do not believe at present China has any intention of invading the US. They make too much money from us to do so.
4. At present I do not believe any country intends to invade us, and our personal weapons are not the reason why.
5. This takes me right back to my opinion that stocking up on guns to "protect" our nation is a fabrication of the NRA and firearms producers.

MSG Stan Hutchison -

1. And that is just your opinion which I disagree with.

-The Biden administration's Disinformation Governance Board, Board head Nina Jankowicz resigned as result of public backlash.
Just from progressive and civil libertarian voices
_ Benjamin Hart, writing in New York Magazine's Intelligencer, said that "presenting anyone from the government as an arbiter of truth in 2022 — much less defining 'disinformation' in a way that more than 40 percent of the population would agree with — seemed doomed from the get-go
_ Lev Golinkin, writing in the progressive magazine The Nation, highlighted Jankowicz's previous association with the fact-checking organization StopFake, which Golinkin accused of defending the Ukrainian Azov Battalion and S14 groups, the latter of which is known for its violent attacks against Romani people.
_ Common Dreams and Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) criticized mainstream media coverage of the board, saying that it ignored left-wing criticism of the board and past human rights abuses and violence by the DHS and other agencies under the DHS, including violence against immigrants, Muslims, Black Lives Matter protestors, and other activists.
_ Joe Lancaster, editor of the libertarian magazine Reason, called the board a potential threat to free speech, and also highlighted Jankowicz's comments regarding the Biden laptop story.
_Kevin Goldberg, a specialist in the First Amendment at the non-partisan Freedom Forum, said that it was "wrong and concerning" that a government agency with enforcement powers created in response to 9/11 would become involved in decisions surrounding speech

I've got more, do you want them?>

2. All those veterans don't need to be armed, they just need to know someone who is, and who has more firearms than they can personally carry and employ. Nearly half of all veterans own one or more firearms (44.9%, 95% CI 41.3–48.6%), with male veterans more commonly owning firearms than do female veterans (47.2%, 95% CI 43.4–51.0% versus 24.4%, 95%CI 15.6–36.1%). Most veteran firearm owners own both handguns and long guns (56.5%, 95% CI 51.1–61.8%); a majority cite protection as a primary reason for firearm ownership (63.1%, 95% CI 58.2–67.8%). [Note that these are just the ones that admit to owning firearms. How many own firearms but don't trust the government with that information?]

3. Do I think a ground war on US soil with China is imminent? No. but how long would it take to arm the populace to the current level if they were disarmed? You don't buy a tire iron and a car jack the day before you get a flat tire.

What do you propose?
-Permissible Weapons
-Max number of weapons possessed per individual
-Max ammunition number of rounds possessed per individual
-Rules of engagement in applying deadly force with a firearm.

Do you oppose "Castle Doctrine?"
Are you in agreement with the Minnesota state Supreme Court that "duty to retreat" if possible, renders self-defense arguments null and void?
