If a kid is both G&T AND ADHD, you have four options:
1) G&T program
2) over-medication
3) Anarchy.
4) Abuse.

That's it. If you do NOT challenge and occupy that student, they WILL act out. So you need to either zombify them, abuse them into submission, or accept anarchy. I would argue that only one of those is a positive solution.

I would *also* argue that refusing to meet that student's needs violates their educational rights.

Luckily, the state where I work has G&T as a bona fide need which qualifies for an IEP. Those rights are protected by law, here. But even then, it is hard to enforce.

Is it actually 'no child left behind'? Or is it the push for equity? My money is on the equity crapfest.
