It would be ridiculous to fine a homeless person! They are homeless because they have no money... Yet our government provides food, licenses, credit cards, and lodging for 10 million illegal immigrants, but do not take care of our own citizens who are down and out and have to live on the street! Why is this?

SGT (Join to see) - Your response tells me that you are an instigator! I was
a VA Volunteer at the VA Hospital in Boston for several years, without any compensation, on their Million Veteran Program as a research assistant, Further, I have been a DAV Chapter Commander since 2015 and the last two years, I have been a Chapter Service Officer in addition, to assist Veterans with their claims. Beyond that, I am a Board director for Victory for Veterans and on a personal note, I am the primary caregiver for my 78 year old sister, who has been mentally challenged since birth... Before that, I was my mother's primary caregiver until her death in 2006. What volunteer work have you done?

Sgt (Join to see) - You just proved my point SGT.. The topic was homelessness and all you had to say was to complain about undocumented people. I call you out on your statement and your response was a a challenge to a pissing contest, a down vote and a response to somehow give credence to your statement.
Now I'm not entering a pissing contest because quite simply you would lose and I don't do what I do for any kind of recognition. I do what I do because that is how I was raised. I've also been homeless and hungry and do not wish that on anyone.
Now kudos for helping family but understand in the culture I grew up in and the culture I presently live in that is a given. If you can, you do it.
You know SGT. food banks cannot open their doors without volunteers and if they are not open people do not get fed.

MAJ Byron Oyler
SGT (Join to see) - It does not sound like any level of volunteer work will satisfy you.

MAJ Byron Oyler The Sgt complained about undocumented getting help and falsely claimed that the US wasn't doing anything for its own citizens. So I called him out in regards to what dies he do to help the homeless.
You can't make such false claims and not be expected to be called out for them which is what I did.
You know major I know I'm not the only past or present member of the military who was told if you have a complaint at least have a possible solution when you bring the complaint forward.
Again the subject was being homeless not claims or anything else the Sgt was involved in which are great but the topic was the homeless.

There was already a 2019 SCOTUS decision that said No to fining a homeless person sleeping outside.
Now instead of spending all of this time and resources on a court case they could divert those resources to solving th problem in their community but they do not want to do that as its easier to write a ticket.

Oregon is a blue state and blue locations want to help people until they actually have to help. Then they want you gone.
