I do not know how the Texas Public Defender's office works. But I have to ask..... how the hell did this go to SCOTUS with a public defender arguing on behalf of the people? Against a person who clerked for the current US AG and multiple Supremes, including one currently sitting.
It seems to me this was set up for failure. And the way the article reads, the public defender did just about as good of a job as you would expect a public defender to do.
