Maj John Bell Or like I do, pay them off immediately. As soon as the transaction goes from pending to posted I pay it off. I don't believe in spending money I don't have.

Cpl Vic Burk - I use a debit card. And have a savings account with 3 months of my living expenses as an emergency buffer. The only problem I've ever had is that the rental car agencies won't let you rent a car with a debit card. I don't travel much, so I don't care much.

Maj John Bell - I have a debit card also but the price is the same either way so I use the credit card. Depending on the purchase I get up to 3% back in rewards. Not a fortune but 3% is better than 0%! Our traveling days are over with my wife's health, so mileage rewards are worthless to us.
