I would disagree for this reason.
Tree Rats (Squirrels) should not be hunted with anything bigger than a 22 LR.

For bigger game, the only thing for me to hunt in this category in Ohio is Deer, I love my .50 Cal Black Powder Rifle. Its one of the modern ones but my friend and I worked up a Load with three Pyrodex Pellets a .40 Cal Nosler bullet and a custom Sabot that allows me to hold center mass and hit within a 6 Inch Circle out to 200 yards.

No argument here. At 75+, I don't hunt so much anymore but I loved using my M-14, but before that (with younger eyes), I was strictly a handgun hunter (Model 29 Smith with 8 3/8" barrel), and being full of pics and vinegar, I made sport of people who used Optics... but later on, I WAS one of those people!!!

That's a large amount to pay for a rifle. It's a pretty thing though.

LTC Trent Klug - I'm all for classic firearms. My safe is full of them like my Krag and Enfield in .303. Not to mention my K31
