Last week a child was shot and died before first responders arrived. It was ruled accidental on the part of the shooter. The incident happened approximately 50 miles from where I live. I don't know the particulars of the case so I can't say if it could have been prevented or not. I am sorry for the family, losing a child is a kind of pain I wouldn't wish on anyone. The immediate outcry from some bystanders is to punish all gun owners with an outright ban on all firearms. Nevermind the accidents they may be responsible for wether it be a car accident or something else. It's time to stop blaming law abiding citizens for other's negligence.

Since car accidents are much more common than gun accidents it made me wonder how many anti-gun people have been responsible for injuries or deaths of other people.
Curious I looked up this tidbit: In 2020 there were 6,516 pedestrians killed in traffic crashes in the United States. That is 18 pedestrians a day and 125 pedestrians a week. On average, a pedestrian was killed every 81 minutes in a traffic crash. Additionally there were an estimated 54,770 pedestrians permanently injured and another 265,410 requiring an extended 3+ months recovery time.
Another fact: There were 38,824 people killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes on U.S. roadways during 2020 with an estimated 2.28 million people were seriously injured, permanent or extended 3+ months recovery time, in motor vehicle traffic crashes.
I could find no statistics or how many people were deliberately killed or injured by automobiles.
I didn’t look up the stats on motorcycles, bicycles, kiddie go-carts/tikes, skateboards or roller-skate related deaths and injuries.
Yet we see no protest over automotive deaths or injuries. It’s a war on the highways.
