When those charged with keeping the peace refuse to do their job, it is the right and the responsibility of each citizen to defend their own. If We the People band together in militias because the lawless band in mobs, that is only reasonable. The problem is that not only have the prosecutors declared that they will not prosecute law breakers, thus encouraging lawlessness, but also they have taken weapons out of the hands of the law abiding in our major cities. So, yeah, just try that in "flyover America" where we are armed and our law enforcement agents still do their job. Good luck. Now, I guess I better get a shovel to mount on the wall next to my guns.

I'm not a big fan of his but the sentiment of the song has been proven long before this was released.
We were watching a show on a shooter in a small town in Whatcom County Washington. A home owner was threatening his neighbors. Two deputies arrive on scene to subdue the guy and are shot. Two civilians, an Afghan veteran and a self described nerd assist them. The vet pulls a downeddeputy to safety. The nerd, who's never shot before, provided security for the wounded police and delivered well aimed fire into the shooter's door.
To me, that is the epitome of the song.
