A Marine veteran-turned-police officer and a Navy veteran just weeks away from her wedding were among the victims of a deadly mass shooting last week in Raleigh, North Carolina.
A 15-year-old gunman killed five people and injured several others on the night of Oct. 13 in the northeastern Raleigh neighborhood of Hedingham.

A Marine veteran-turned-police officer and a Navy veteran just weeks away from her wedding were among the victims of a deadly mass shooting last week in Raleigh, North Carolina.

IMHO we don't need more firearm laws, we need to enforce the ones already on the books.
I said on another thread, if the criminal doesn't fear the punishment, they will keep committing the crimes.
Life imprisonment doesn't work for all crimes, we should go back to capital punishment.
If found guilty they don't sit in a cell for years while the appeals drag out, they get one shot. After that it's up to the state, lethal injection or the firing squad. You kill someone, you die.
If the criminal is found insane, they are put in a high security asylum until they are found competent to stand trial.
If a child (anyone under 18) kills anyone they should be tried as a adult and face the same consequences as a adult. All this stuff where it seems that the criminal has more rights than the victim has to stop.

I agree with the need to eradicate these behaviors. Collectively, our .oral compasses, need to be recalibrated.
