My comment, "Why is NPR being subsidized using our tax dollars?
Individuals fund NPR to the tune of 38% of their total revenue, and people should support organizations that they care about. But why are we using our tax dollars to support NPR and how many of those people donating money make anything close to that of the executives of NPR?
On Aug 12, 2020, it was salary was reported at $665,935: Jarl Mohn, President, and CEO; $509.680: Steven A Inskeep, Senior Host, Morning Edition; $479,578, and the top 15 executives have salaries over $300K per year, and 10 more at $200K annual salary.
The Federal agencies and States funded 12% of NPR's total revenue in 2021. As a bonus, NPR is exempt from income tax.
Their total revenue for 2021 was 309.69M U.S. dollars. [Source: IRS 990 Filings]
While NPR launched in 1971 as a diversity of thought and speech it has failed over time and today mirrors MSNBC. [Source PEW Research]
This begs the question of why are "we the people" helping to pay for this content by way of our taxes?"
