It is an ill wind, as they say. The southwest depends on these storms for our summer monsoons. We are in the wet phase of our eleven year cycle with good rain last year and this. Got some good "Kay" rain here in the Old Pueblo yesterday, expecting more. The problem is, these storms haven't been strong enough lately to push rain further north to the Colorado River rainshed.

SGT Jim Arnold
CWO4 Terrence Clark in 1994 we had a storm system roll through Yuma for several days which completely washed out highway 95 and the bridge between YPG and the town of Yuma

SGT Jim Arnold I recall that. I retired 11/93, we had just closed on this place. '93, '94 and '95 were exceptionally wet monsoons. My mom's place was about 1/2 mile back from the Santa Cruz which cut a new channel just missing her. Of course in those days all that was because we were entering a new ice age. Too bad, we were looking at putting in an ice skating rink.

They need a ton of water for the Colorado River basin. Cover them bodies back up in Lake Mead.
