Back in the 1970's, Pink Floyd was not a singer I could take... My oldest son thought He was awesome! But, I have to admit, the Music of the 1970's and '80's was some of the best music ever! In my older self, I listen to the songs like this one by Pink Floyd and now see the beauty and passion of the songs and the people who sang them...
Pink Floyd are an English rock band formed in London in 1965. Gaining an early following as one of the first British psychedelic groups, they were distinguished for their extended compositions, sonic experimentation, philosophical lyrics and elaborate live shows. They became a leading band of the progressive rock genre, cited by some as the greatest progressive rock band of all time.
About Pink Floyd:
Pink Floyd were founded in 1965 by Syd Barrett (guitar, lead vocals), Nick Mason (drums), Roger Waters (bass guitar, vocals), Richard Wright (keyboards, vocals). The band had previously undergone previous incarnations and names before officially operating under the name “Pink Floyd”. Under Barrett's leadership, they released two charting singles and the successful debut album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967). Guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour joined in December 1967; Barrett left in April 1968 due to deteriorating mental health. Waters became the primary lyricist and thematic leader, devising the concepts behind the band's peak success with the albums The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977) and The Wall (1979). In honor of the very talented guitarist and lead singer [before his breakdown] Syd Barrett I am posting a few of his songs
Background on this bittersweet song: "This song reflects the feelings of estrangement from other people, and was inspired by the band's former member Syd Barrett, who left the band because of mental-health issues. On this song Roger Waters and David Gilmour worked together which happened very seldom as they usually preferred to write separately.

Pink Floyd is a great group as is most rock bands of the era. I personally cant stand country music and never could but some like it, although I can't understand why.
