Sgt (Join to see) I don't know if they are where they can really understand it all at this point seeing how none of them have ever had a loan from a financial institution. (I have all freshmen right now)

Cpl Vic Burk Guess they’ll find out soon enough not to trust institutions and plastic, but rather what they have to work for and tender set aside.

At some point we will be forced to rein this in.....probably way late when remedies are most severe

Sgt (Join to see) Many didn't, and those that did created the system of debt we see today.

MAJ Hugh Blanchard
My Mom was a child of the Depression from a hard-hit small town in Kentucky. By age 14 she was driving a coal truck. She and her brother had to move in with her great uncle after her parents passed away. The Depression experience scarred her forever, and she never really trusted banks afterwards. We try to keep cash on hand and lots of gold and silver hidden in a high-security safe. (Along with firearms and ammo.)

MAJ Hugh Blanchard - Good ideas, I agree. I also believe in burying stuff ;] and hiding valuables in plain sight.

Sgt (Join to see) MAJ Hugh Blanchard 1SG Dan Capri Cpl Vic Burk Hide valuables in “plain sight.” Like in a bag of prunes in kitchen, behind a picture, in books on a shelf, etc. Let a trusted person outside the home know, in case of death. Got this from my older Polish relatives, people who didn’t trust banks.
