Periodic Qualification s/b a requirement for anyone licensed to carry any weapon! In CA, retired LEOs are required to qualify annually.(?).

I agree in principle. As the good chief said above ( CWO4 Terrence Clark ) the devil is in the details. I would think something along the lines of every 3 or 4 years for open carry, every 1 or 2 for concealed. And low- or no-cost certification of qualification.

I see anti-gun states using that as "$100 certification fee for your qualification. Re-qualify every month." And then being like, "What? You gun folks said this is what responsible ownership looks like!"

Same goes for retired LEOs who have nationwide carry under LEOSA.
